Cool Stuff I've Found...

 'Prison Break' on Fox

This show just started on Monday... and it has the potential to be a great show. The storyline centers around a man convicted of murder who is in prison and will be put to death in 30 days. His brother happens to have worked on renovating the prison and has extensive knowledge of the layout along with full blueprints of the facility. He creates an elaborite escape plan (which we don't know the details of yet) and then stages an armed robbery of a bank so he can be sent to prison to break his brother out.

It has the standard, required, prison gangs, fights, violence, etc. However the cool part of the episodes are how you learn a little bit more about how the escape will work and actually watch it slowly unfold. You are teased with a new piece of information during the episode and you try to figure out what he is going to do with the item or information he wants. By the end of the episode you find out.

The first two episodes were on Monday but they will be running an encore on Thursday night. This is definitely one for Tivo!

 'Entourage' on HBO

Apparently this show has been on the last 2 years, but I just recently found it. It's on HBO on Sunday evenings at 10 PM. It is a half hour drama/comedy that is best described as Sex in the City meets Hollywood with twenty/thirty-something males.

There are four main characters, two brothers and two friends... all have grown up together. One is a breaking-out actor (Vince), his brother (Drama) a struggling actor, one friend (Eric) acts as the formers manager, and the last friend (Turtle) is just along for the ride.

The star of the show from an entertainment perspective is a sarcastic/obnoxious agent (Ari) that constantly works to land assignments for Vince.

The show is extremely well written and entertaining. One of the best features of the show is how well it integrates with the "real" Hollywood. There are regular cameos by famous actors, actresses and producers. Recently James Cameron & the pop star Mandy Moore have become regulars for one of the plotlines.

My description definitely does not do this show justice. Definitely check it out -- I was hooked after one episode and now want to rent the first season on DVD to catch up.
